I saved your homily for Sunday morning. As I as I listened I knew I would have to listen to it again. When I was young I truly believed that God was there to judge us and to punish us to keep us in line, therefore never really loving God, always believing in him, but fearing him. As I got much older and really listened to Jesus’s words, and how Gods Spirit got me through some very tough times And worked miracles in me, I slowly grew to love God and lose my crippling fear, and believing as I did in my heart that regardless of your religious beliefs, Be you Jew or Gentile, Muslim or Buddhist,if you want to be with God and you seek him he will be with you. Meeting you has been a breath of fresh air since much of what you preach, I have always hoped for and how I came to believe. Thank you Drew , no I do not believe in my heart that God caused this, but if
we look to him we will get through it.
Bella, thank you for writing such a beautiful post. Sorry for not acknowledging it sooner, but we’ve been very busy managing all the digital and internet-based stuff. It seems like there are comments EVERYWHERE: here on this web site, on YouTube, on Facebook, in email. I will make sure Drew gets your kind words.
Wow…bringing insight to much that is new to me. I listened to your Homily twice and am attempting to integrate it into what I am learning in another book . It is so honest, so based in our own perception of our reality and incredibly comforting to know we are able to feel Jesus within ourselves.
Thank you Drew for helping us understand what has been experienced and seen for many of us at one time or another. He is alive and Heaven within our reach…
Thank you for helping us to find him in ourselves.
May you continue to help us explore what so many of us were taught to ignore. I am very blessed to be a part of the learning and experiencing. Sending love and peace, in this difficult time.
Hey, Patti. I am certain that Drew already knows how you feel, but I will make sure he sees your post, even if I have to telegraph it to him. (He has recently upgraded his technology from messenger pigeon.)
As always I enjoyed your homily Father Drew. Is was good to hear your calming voice at this time. I try to remember your words that worry is a waste of time ,but it is hard at this time. I have a daughter and three grandchildren in the medical field working in hospitals ,so it is hard not to worry . I have a grandaughter just getting over the virus, thank God . I am doing a lot of praying. Miss the Good Shepherd family and can’t wait to be back at church. Stay safe
As I was listening to Father Drew’s homily, I received a text from my sister. I did pause for a few minutes. My nephew’s mother in law is waiting to be put on a ventilator in Columbus, Ohio in hopes that it will stabilize her with the Covid 19 virus. She has multiple health issues. This is my nephew who converted to Judaism. And they are involved with their temple etc. At the beginning of the week, I had looked up some verses from Psalms; it was his grandmother’s favorite book in the Bible.
And I did not reach out to him, not sure how receptive he would be to my thoughts and prayers.
So now, I have finished listening to Father Drew and will listen again before I send Tyler and Sharon, their triplets and family a huge amount of LOVE through God’s words.
Just like Pam said last night; the family has little to no contact with her.
Thanks you for listening. Thank you Father Drew. Stay well and be safe.
Absolutely amazing and so profound. We as a community need your guidance , direction and insightful ness to spread the word . We are the light seekers, the light carriers , the messengers to the world . I can not thank you enough for all the love and continuing guidance during this additionally trying time. Stay safe and look forward to more impactful messages to pass on .
I always find meaning in your homilies and they provide a new way of understanding…today I felt it to be consoling…yesterday my 91 yr. old uncle Al passed away. He had fallen and was sent to the hospital where he was then placed in quarantine. When he returned to his facility he was quarantined again…He did not have COVID 19 Yet he died ALONE, breaking my heart. I believe he died peacefully and I know he is in a better place but I struggle that we could not COMFORT him. Thank you Drew for reminding us that God lives within us and through the things we do for others…
Thank you Father Drew, for taking time to connect with all of us. I do miss going to 9 o’clock Sunday mass. Hope all are staying safe and Praying to our All Forgiving God. In Jesus’s name AMEN
Thank you so much father Drew I really needed that today. It’s wonderful to feel part of a beautiful church and a beautiful family thank you and be well be safe
