Pastoral Care Ministry Founder
Eleanor, known for her devotion and extraordinary service to Good Shepherd, was beloved by all for her kindness, compassion, and generosity. Many parishioners remember her as the first person they met at Good Shepherd; it was her warm welcome as Greeter at Mass that first inspired them to join our parish. Eleanor served as Pastoral Care/Eucharistic Minister, working for several years to visit and bring Communion to parishioners who were homebound or in hospice. She also served as Lector, assisted with Morning Prayer programs, washed and ironed altar linens, gave out ashes on Ash Wednesday and went out of her way to befriend everyone—especially the children. Eleanor was always reaching out with birthday and get-well cards and thoughtful gifts for every occasion. Her generosity to Good Shepherd included our brass processional cross, along with other liturgical items. Loving and giving, both in spirit and action, Eleanor blessed everyone she knew—serving others, trusting God completely, and living her faith in ways that inspired everyone around her. Eleanor exemplified our Good Shepherd Mission Statement as a true disciple of Jesus.
